The IIBEC Southern Ontario Chapter hosted its Annual Christmas Luncheon on December 12^th at Bellue Manor in Vaughan, Ontario.

The event started with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails as 200 guests registered and socialized.

Meagan Kikuta, Lora Bourck, and John Mills provided an update on the membership and about the great things that have been going on locally and a thank you to all our sponsors.

Jennifer Hogan praised the local chapter for the BES+ after party and reminded everyone to sign up for the Live in 25 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show March 6^th to 9^th, in Orlando Florida. Stephanie Robinson praised collaboration between chapters and also called out for volunteers IIBEC international.

Lora thanked members, welcomed president of Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, and introduced Sara Elizabeth Center. This year, the IIBEC Southern Ontario Chapter proudly supported the Blue Veil Charity-Sara Elizabeth Center, an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with special needs, through art, skill development, and peer inclusivity. The 50/50 raffle raised $860 and the winner donated their winnings back to SEC.

Adding a lively touch to the luncheon, violinist G. Pinto performed many hits with a dynamic performance, and a great Elvis impersonation. Wrapping up the day, Blair Gamracy and John Mills announced raffle winners, ending the event on an exciting note as prizes were distributed among the lucky recipients.

IIBEC Southern Ontario Chapter’s Spring Roofing Seminars – were presented in person by Ted Katsoris, B. Tech., Arch Sc. FCSC, CCCA, BSS / Morrison Hershfield, Michael Hensen, P. Eng., RRC / Rimkus, and Jean-Guy Levaque, F-IIBEC, RRC, RRO, Arch. Technologist / Pretium Engineering. Andy Xiao P.eng. of MTE Consultants moderated the seminars. Twenty-Eight attendees were able to learn from these industry leading professionals over an engaging afternoon at the Toronto Construction Association offices. 

The seminars included 

• Roof Maintenance: From the Design Stage to the Service Life 
• Quality Control Measures During Roofing Process 
• The Challenges With Alterations / Refurbishment of Aged Roofs
