IIBEC Southern Ontario hosted our first continuing education online course, Roof System Thermal and Moisture Design, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. on both May 13th and 20th, 2021. The online live course was attended by 18 people and included speakers Michael Hensen and Burt Carver and moderators Connor James and Jim Detz.
The course for consultants and industry members provided in-depth thermal and moisture design information spanning from basic thermal terminology and calculations to cooling-load calculations, annual energy consumptions and payback calculations, cool roofing, and temperature calculations within cross sections. Additional topics included vapor retarders, the effects of moisture on insulation, air barriers, and mold issues.
